Light enough to forget, ready when you need it
Barely there in your pocket
At 142 g and just 1.32 cm thick, the Skeletool weighs about 100 g less than a Wave+. The cut-out frame saves weight without giving up full-size pliers.
The pocket clip in the box holds it upright inside your trouser pocket, like a pen.
A combo-edge blade for everyday jobs
The 420HC blade has a straight section for clean slicing and a serrated section that grips cord, rope, straps and packaging. It opens one-handed through the thumb hole and locks in place while you work.
Bit driver, spare bit and carabiner
The large bit driver takes standard Leatherman bits. Two double-ended bits come with it: one in the driver and one stored in the handle, for Phillips #1 and #2 plus two flat sizes.
The built-in carabiner clips to a belt loop or bag and doubles as a bottle opener. Leatherman backs it with a 25-year limited warranty.

The warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship. Normal wear (including wear on the black finish), misuse, lost bits, and lost or stolen tools are not covered. Keep your LightMen invoice, as it's your proof of purchase.
Keep it working like new
Clean
Rinse in warm, soapy water, then dry it fully with the tools open.
Oil
Put a drop of light oil on the plier pivot and blade pivot, and work them open and shut a few times.
Sharpen
Sharpen the straight section on any stone, and the serrated section with a tapered ceramic rod.
Use the right tool
Use the pliers to grip and pull, never as a pry bar or hammer. A lightweight frame is strong, but it isn't built for levering nails.
Questions customers ask us
What's the difference between the Skeletool and the Skeletool CX?
They're the same size and weight with the same tools. The Skeletool has a 420HC combo-edge blade, part straight and part serrated, which is good for cord and rope. The Skeletool CX has a premium 154CM plain-edge blade that stays sharp longer.
Does it come with a pocket clip?
Yes. A removable pocket clip comes fitted. The built-in carabiner gives you a second way to carry it, on a belt loop or bag strap.
Does it come with a sheath?
No, the sheath is sold separately. Our nylon sheath (with or without pockets) fits it in size Medium.
Does the blade lock?
Yes. The blade opens one-handed through the thumb hole and locks open while you use it.
Will more Leatherman bits fit?
Yes. The large bit driver takes standard Leatherman bits, and two come with the tool. The Bit Kit adds 21 more, and the Bit Extender reaches recessed screws.
Can I take it on a flight?
Not in your cabin bag, because it has a blade. Pack it in checked luggage.
Can I get it engraved?
Yes, laser engraving is free on Leatherman tools. Add a name, date, message or company logo. See examples of our engraving.
