Light enough to forget, ready when you need it
A premium 154CM blade
The blade is 154CM stainless steel, hardened to 58–60 HRC. It holds a sharp edge noticeably longer than the 420HC on most multi-tools, and resists rust well in humid weather.
It opens one-handed through the thumb hole and locks in place while you work.
Barely there in your pocket
At 142 g and just 1.32 cm thick, the Skeletool CX weighs about 100 g less than a Wave+. That's the difference between a tool you leave at home and one you actually carry every day.
The pocket clip in the box holds it upright inside your trouser pocket, like a pen.
A bit driver with a spare in the handle
The large bit driver takes standard Leatherman bits. Two double-ended bits come with it: one in the driver and one stored in the handle, giving you Phillips #1 and #2 plus two flat sizes.
Add the Bit Kit to carry more sizes.
A carabiner that opens bottles
The built-in carabiner clips the tool to a belt loop, backpack strap or keyring, and doubles as a bottle opener.

The warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship. Normal wear (including wear on the finish), misuse, lost bits, and lost or stolen tools are not covered. Keep your LightMen invoice, as it's your proof of purchase.
Keep it working like new
Clean
Rinse in warm, soapy water, then dry it fully with the tools open.
Oil
Put a drop of light oil on the plier pivot and blade pivot, and work them open and shut a few times.
Sharpen
154CM holds an edge well and sharpens cleanly on a diamond or ceramic stone. Touch it up before it gets fully dull.
Use the right tool
Use the pliers to grip and pull, never as a pry bar or hammer. A lightweight frame is strong, but it isn't built for levering nails.
Questions customers ask us
Does it come with a pocket clip?
Yes. A removable pocket clip comes in the box, so you can carry the tool clipped inside a trouser pocket. The built-in carabiner gives you a second way to carry it, on a belt loop or bag strap.
Does it come with a sheath?
No, the sheath is sold separately. Our nylon sheath (with or without pockets) fits it in size Medium.
Is it strong enough with such a light frame?
Yes, for everyday jobs: gripping, turning nuts, cutting wire, opening parcels and driving screws. The pliers are full-size. For heavy prying or levering nails, choose a bigger tool such as the Surge.
Does the blade lock?
Yes. The 154CM blade opens one-handed through the thumb hole and locks open while you use it. Press the lock to fold it away.
Will more Leatherman bits fit?
Yes. The large bit driver takes standard Leatherman bits, and two come with the tool. The Bit Kit adds 21 more, and the Bit Extender reaches recessed screws.
Should I choose the Skeletool CX or the Wave+?
Choose the Skeletool CX if you want the lightest tool with a better blade and you mainly need pliers, cutters, a blade and a driver. Choose the Wave+ if you also want scissors, a saw, files and more drivers.
Can I take it on a flight?
Not in your cabin bag, because it has a blade. Pack it in checked luggage.
Can I get it engraved?
Yes, laser engraving is free on Leatherman tools. Add a name, date, message or company logo. It makes a great gift. See examples of our engraving.
